And it was never going to erupt.

Yeah, neither was Mount Vesuvius.

You pore thing. When it comes to acne, aging, and the finickiest skin conditions, facialist April Walden will tell it to you straight.

Her approach is simple: Do whatever it takes. Count on budget-friendly custom treatments that start with a thorough cleansing and skin analysis, followed by any number of personalized peels and rehydrating masques applied all over or swabbed on just so, gentle extractions, relaxing massage, and possibly even nutritional tricks that’ll get your skin to glow.

A note to vapor lovers: Walden skips the steam in most treatments.

She’s not full of hot air.

Available at Lucas, 1541 Echo Park Avenue, between Grafton Street and Morton Avenue, Echo Park (213-250-7992).

Photo: Courtesy of Lucas

You’ve heard the Big Star commotion. The boys (Paul Kahan, Donnie Madia, Terry Alexander, Eduard Seitan, Peter Garfield) are at it again, this time with a honky-tonk taqueria in the old Pontiac space opening Monday.

You’ve gotten a taste: pork-on-a-spit tacos and dulce de leche milk shakes, courtesy of chef Justin Large (Blackbird, The Publican, Avec).

And a buzz: 50 rare whiskeys; 40 small-batch tequilas; one vodka, gin, and rum; and dollar Schlitz, courtesy of Michael Rubel (Violet Hour).

You’ve heard. But you haven’t really listened. So we asked Big Star to make a playlist just for you. The tunes are so edgy and offbeat that most of them aren’t on iTunes. We gave you the links we could. For the rest, you’ll have to go hear for yourself. Hit it, boys.

“Pain, Loneliness, and Misery,” by Frankie Treat

“Please, Please, Bartender,” by Sonny Joe Ivy

“Stained and Lit,” by Red Red Meat

“Crying Lonely Tears,” by Karen Louise Sawyer

“(Quicksilver Daydreams of) Maria,” by Townes Van Zandt

“Blame Loneliness,” by Big Bill Johnson

“I’ll Never See Him Again,” by Elsie Shaw

“Wild Horses,” by Gram Parsons

“High Fashion Queen,” by The Flying Burrito Brothers

“Heaven in Your Arms,” by Weldon & Wanda Rogers

“Heartful of Tears,” by Bill Tyler & the Cedar Valley Boys

“Love Comes to Me,” by Bonnie “Prince” Billy

“Please, Please Come Back,” by Johny Wade & Skitter Bob

“Help Me Lift You Up,” by Mary Margaret O’Hara

“I Am the Cosmos,” (country version) by Chris Bell

Big Star, 1531 North Damen Avenue, at Pierce Avenue (773-235-4039).

Photo: Grant Kessler / Courtesy of Big Star

Don’t know about yours, but our relatives are best appreciated at a safe distance.

But it’s a family affair at The Crangi Family Project, a new Meatpacking District jewelry boutique.

Philip Crangi (in all his lumberjack-chic glory) designed and built the jewel box of a shop. Black pressed-tin ceilings, dark velvet walls, and ribbon trim were done by hand. Custom shelving displays his namesake line — designed with sister and biz partner Courtney — and Giles & Brother costume collection. Dad’s an artist who will showcase sculptures. Sister-in-law Sheri manages the tiny space.

A smattering of vintage books and home items that inspire their work (Bauhaus, botanicals, African prints) are mixed in with bold, braided pieces; a drawer of delicate charm necklaces; and, if the mood strikes, special baubles made for runway shows.

You know, it’s all relative.

The Crangi Family Project, 9 Ninth Avenue, between Little West 12th and 13th Streets (212-929-0858).

When you doodle, it’s usually something shameful like your name with boy-of-moment’s last name. You know, just to see how it will look when you fetch the mail after you two are married with kids.

Lisa Marie Norton’s doodles have real-life inspiration.

The Michigan-based graphic designer creates noncutesy five-by-seven portraits of your dog, cat, bird, bunny, iguana, turtle, or snake. You supply her with photos; she takes pen to paper and then colors it in digitally.
You’d rather endure a public bikini wax than another press-seeking Speidi episode (unless they fall off a cliff — and die).

But Balloga is one fame-searching name merger we can live with.

Vert now offers the fusion ballet and yoga class. Mavericks dancer (and former Cowboys cheerleader) Lauren Castillo teaches the 45-minute session, which was designed by studio owner Trevor Marum to help improve posture, firm glutes, and tighten core muscles.

Castillo leads the semiprivate (seven peeps max) workout four days a week. Reservations are required, but no previous ballet or yoga experience is.

So you won’t feel like running for the hills.

Available at Vert Fitness & Wellness Center, 1909 North Henderson Avenue (214-883-2468 or vertfit.com).

Photo: Courtesy of Vert Fitness & Wellness Center

Your contribution to last year’s Thanksgiving dinner was a box of Stove Top that looked (and tasted) like raw cement.

Not this year, little pilgrim. Raise the stakes (and get it right) with a private Thanksgiving cooking class from Terence Janericco.

The chef/caterer/teacher has the patience of a preschool teacher and can do everything from crispy lattice atop a blueberry pie to wheat-free stuffing to turkey the way Grammy used to make it. Janericco does all the shopping and planning. You just invite a few friends (if you feel like sharing the knowledge).

Feeling ambitious? He’ll help you master an entire menu — giblets to gingerbread.

Just think outside of the box.

Terence Janericco Cooking Classes, 42 Fayette Street, Downtown (617-426-7458 or terencejanericcocookingclasses.com).

Photo: Courtesy of Jupiter Images

After the bickering, backhanded compliments, and probing questions about your live-in “friend,” you’ve usually lost your appetite.

This year, let Fair Food Farmstand help you create a Thanksgiving meal that will keep even your cattiest cousin’s mouth shut.

Order online or swing by in person to select the perfect naturally raised gobbler for your group.
You’ve traveled the food globe from sea to shining sea. Even countries where your passport is banned.

One bite that’s definitely worth the trip: Havana Restaurant. The hungrily missed Buford Highway sandwich shop has relocated to a new spot, and it’s opening Monday.

Co-founder Debbie Benedit revived the resto just up the road from its former haunt. She gave the space a fresh look: metallic silver and blue walls, tropical decor, and etched flooring.

Counter service fans can thrill to the fabled No. 17 combo plate (half Cuban sandwich, black bean soup, and yellow rice topped with signature red sauce) and traditional dishes like pollo granadina (a quarter bird stewed in tomato salsa).

Of course, flan and arroz con leche recipes remain in-house secrets.

That’s embargo to you.

Havana Restaurant, 3979 Buford Highway, Chamblee (404-633-7549 or havanarestaurantatlanta.com).

Photo: Dana Seith

All in a good day’s work: rings, 5. Necklaces, 3. Approving looks from strangers looking at jewellery, lots.

It is very good to be Dominic Jones right now.

Studied at Sir John Cass School of Art and now working on a badass collection of rings, necklaces and earrings with model-of-the-moment, lovely best friend and business partner Alice Dellal. Nothing dainty, nothing too feminine — perfect for the new you.

Ferocious progress thus far: solid rose gold rings with animal claw motifs, including a don’t-mess-with-this pointy knuckle ring that spans three fingers; stud earrings shaped like fangs and rose thorns; a necklace with freshwater pearls and black gold molded to look like rose stems.

Edgy and animalistic but still completely chic.

This might be love.

Available at Browns Focus, 38-39 South Molton Street, W1K 5RN (020 7514 0063 or brownsfashion.com).
