Private Cooking Classes at August

get cookin'!

Your best customer in the kitchen has four legs and poops on the floor.

Pleasing pooch is peachy, but you should graduate to your peers.

Schedule a private class (with up to five friends for moral support) at August, where chef George Djurovic (Tru, Le Bernardin) will show you how to prepare a proper meal.

First, pick a protein: monkfish, lobster, lamb, guinea hen, and more. Then get tipsy BYOB style while Djurovic teaches you slow poaching, searing, and roasting and whips up sides from sustainable ingredients.

A few hours later, you’ll have digested the fruits of Djurovic’s labor and will leave with the know-how to recreate the meal.

Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

August, 1500 West Division Street, between Greenview and Bosworth Avenues (773-252-9560). Classes by appointment only, Thursdays and Saturdays, 7-10 p.m. Map It
